  • As of 4 pm, total amount of bypass sewage at the Sayreville Pumping Station was estimated at 495 million gallons

  • The average hourly bypass sewage rate varies between 1.3 to 3.0 million gals/hr; the warm weather continues to cause the snow to melt that produced a larger volume of run-off which required us to bypass sewage at a higher rate than yesterday

  • At the break site, the inspection of the pipeline confirmed that the break was isolated to one section of the pipeline; the approval was given to go forward with the repair; the construction company placed the new pipe during the overnight hours; the new pipe is now being welded to create a water-tight connection, a process that takes approximately 12 hours – work should be concluded around 10 pm today
